Julia Roberts, Kylie, Gigi flock to South of France for designer Jacquemus’ show

Hollywood royalty descended on the French Riviera this past week for the launch of Simon Porte Jacquemus’ latest, much-anticipated, fashion show. The 34-year old’s luxury French brand, Jacquemus, is known around the world for being far more than ‘just fashion’. Each of his collections tells a story that evokes emotion and is influenced by his rural upbringing in Salon-de-Provence.

His latest – titled ‘The Sculptures’ – failed to disappoint. It was held in the grounds of France’s first private art institution, La Fondation Maeght, situated in St Paul de Vence (tucked away in the hills, not too far from Nice).

An array of international stars gathered to admire the innovative collection. With her megawatt smile, Julia Roberts led the tribe, sitting front row, and creating headlines along the Côte d’Azur.

Jacquemus wrote on Instagram afterwards: “My heart ❤️🔒 JULIA ROBERTS… Couldn’t be more happy, thanks for your support Julia. It means a lot to me and all the jacquemus team. 🥹🥰”

Other celebrities in attendance included supermodel Gigi Hadid (who opened the show), actress Kristin Davis (Charlotte in Sex & The City), Kylie Jenner and daughter Stormi, Edward Enningful (Condé Nast’s global advisor), American rapper Jack Harlow and many more.

The show, a tribute to Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti, was held within the unconventional museum as well as in the gardens.

What is La Fondation Maeght?

La Fondation Maeght became France’s first private art institution when it was opened in July 1964. It is inspired by the likes of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation which visionary couple Aimé and Marguerite Maeght had visited during their regular trips to the United States. The couple were publishers, art dealers and friends with leading artists like George Braque, Fernand Léger, Marc Chagall and many others of the period.

Visit Fondation Maeght next time you’re on the Riviera:
623, Chemin des Gardettes, Saint-Paul de Vence, 06570, France

Visit La Fondation Maeght’s website here. The Foundation is open everyday from 10am to 6pm, and until 7pm in July and August.
